We had a wonderful Christmas lunch here as non-residents ( in the hotel not Torquay!) . Thank you so much to the fantastic team who went out of their way to make the day so special for everyone. It was a very slick operation so well done to the restaurant manager and his team for the attention to detail. We arrived early and wanted to settle with a drink first at our table., our starters immediately arrived but they were swiftly withdrawn while we enjoyed an aperitif. The team were happy to serve each course as and when we wished timing wise, it was very relaxed and all the food was delicious. Thank you all for an enjoyable time and well done maître d’ for completing a busy lunch service to then host the bingo !!
Downstairs lovely as it has been redecorated recently. Upstairs bedrooms need sorting out. The hotel is in need of a general maintenance person as there were lots of issues with the bedrooms which could of easily been fixed. Our bedroom window didn't shut so making it quite cold & it was December! No bath in the bathroom as requested & the hotel had been booked well in advance. Its a long way up a very winding steep road with no footpath in places from the centre of Tourquay so not suitable to walk into & back from the centre of Tourquay especially in the winter months or for older people. The taxi service in Torquay is not great either! There is no swimming pool in this hotel. Only hydrotherapy pools, a sauna & steam room & it no longer has a gym. It does have a lovely back garden & in the summer/ better months i believe there is a footpath leading down to a local secluded beach. As it is high up & overlooking the sea it does have lovely views & there is a nearby path leading up towards an even better viewpoint.
We visited for the day on the Lazy day for locals deal.
This, by the way is open for non residents.
The hotel views are breathtaking and the interior of the hotel is beautifully presented.
We enjoyed a pot of tea upon arrival and then use of the Hydra pools (4 pools, two the same with a jet stream on / off option type wave to allow swimming in a fast current to build muscles or even stand in the jets to massage tired muscles, there was also two seating areas at the other end of this pool with massage jets, one pool is a cool dip from the sauna and another a very warm jacuzzi type pool) complex with sauna and steam room.
The pool complex is new and modern with seating through the pool doors should you wish to sit outside during your pool experience also loungers are in the pool area.
There are two large lockable changing areas, one of which is disabled aided, separate toilet and spa treatment room.
There are a small number of lockers but have seen better days and only a few have keys, so maybe leave valuables in the car.
We had pre booked an afternoon tea for two which was beautifully presented and delicious.
This felt like a decadent treat for the day, nothing felt rushed during the day and the day started at 10am until 5pm or whenever you felt like arriving.
The staff are friendly and very helpful with nothing too much trouble type of attitude and attention to detail.
This reminded me of an hotel of days gone by with wonderful attention to detail.
Had such an amazing weekend away at the headland hotel and spa. The staff were all very friendly and caring. The food was lovely and great service. Very good value and great spa facilities. Highly recommend.
Disappointed with service. Need more staff with appropriate training. Staff unaware/didn't seem to look to customer needs. The meal itself was delicious but we sat with empty plates for 30 mins before we could attract staff attention to remove. Overall a bit disappointed. Might go again but won't rush.
Central to Torquay area with great views.
Service at the bar and late check in was great and can’t fault the team.
Location is good for anyone wanting to get into Torquay easily. …
Fantastic location. Me and my wife only stayed for two nights but we found the hotel staff very friendly and welcoming nothing was to much trouble. The hotel itself is very nice and the views are outstanding. We will be coming back for another stay very soon. Thankyou to Owen and his team .
Right here goes an honest, unbiased review..
